Does Klovinal delay period?

It is only hormonal drugs such as “Primolut N” that can delay periods. Since klovinal is not a hormonal drug, it therefore can’t and doesn’t delay period.

Klovinal is used for the treatment of mixed vaginal infections such as candidiasis, bacterial vaginosis, and trichomoniasis.

It is also used to restore vaginal normal flora. Vaginal normal flora are friendly microorganisms that live in the vagina which enables it to be healthy, devoid of colonization by harmful and disease causing microorganisms.

It contains clotrimazole, metronidazole and lactobacillus spores.

It is inserted into the vagina once daily for 6 days.

It is best used at night, upon retiring to bed. This is done because of convenience only. So, if you would prefer to use it in the morning or afternoon, it would still work effectively.

The most common side effects of klovinal pessaries include the following: mild burning sensation, irritation, stinging to vaginal area, and local pruritus.
